Tour Overview
This compact 3-day wildlife safari is perfect for adventure seekers, photographers, and luxury travelers who want to experience Sri Lanka’s incredible wildlife in a short timeframe. The tour focuses on Yala National Park, home to the world’s highest concentration of leopards, while providing opportunities to see elephants, birds, and other diverse wildlife.
Once you arrived, one of our representative will pick you up from your location (Colombo/Negombo/South Coast) and drive to the Yala region. Enjoy a scenic drive with refreshment stops along the way. Upon arrival, check in at your selected accommodation near Yala National Park. After lunch and a brief relaxation period, receive a comprehensive briefing about the upcoming safari adventures and Sri Lankan wildlife. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at your accommodation with a presentation on Sri Lankan leopards and their behavior. Overnight stay in Yala.
Wake up before dawn for an early morning game drive in Yala National Park (Block 1). This is prime time for leopard sightings and seeing animals at their most active. Enjoy a packed breakfast in the park as you continue your safari, focusing on tracking leopards, elephants, and sloth bears. Visit key water holes where animals congregate and enjoy bird watching opportunities including eagles, peacocks, and endemic species. After a picnic lunch in a designated area, continue your safari exploration in a different section of the park, visiting less crowded areas for more exclusive wildlife encounters. Return to your accommodation before sunset for dinner and a photo review session. Overnight stay in Yala.
Early morning light breakfast followed by a safari at Bundala National Park, focusing on bird watching (flamingos, storks, herons) and opportunities to see crocodiles and water monitors. Return to your accommodation for a full breakfast and check-out. If time permits, visit the Elephant Transit Home to see orphaned elephants. Enjoy lunch at a scenic location before departing to your next destination or airport.
