• Eat like Jaffna: palmyra everything — crab curry, dosai, manipaan. Ask your chauffeur where the drivers eat; that's the answer.
• Islands & forts: the Dutch star-fort and the ferry hop to Delft Island (fossils, baobabs, wild ponies) make a perfect day hire from town.
